Aloe Vera

Pasti sudah banyak yang mengenal tanaman satu ini, tanaman yang banyak tumbuh di Afrika Utara sejak 1500 SM. Tanaman ini dapat tumbuh dengan subur di tanah yang kering, berpasir dan tidak terlalu banyak air. Biasanya penduduk Afrika Utara menggunakan Aloe vera atau lebih dikenal dengan Lidah Buaya untuk menyembuhkan luka.

Aloe vera juga bisa tumbuh subur di Indonesia dikarenakan Indonesia memiliki iklim tropis. Aloe vera dikenal memiliki banyak manfaat seperti dapat menyuburkan rambut hanya dengan cara mengoleskan isi dari Aloe vera kerambut dan bisa untuk menghaluskan kulit. Konon Cleopatra juga menggunakan Aloe vera untuk menghaluskan kulitnya. Kandungan air dalam daging buahnya mampu menjaga kelembapan kulit kita, sehingga mencegah kulit dari dehidrasi.

Selain itu mengkomsumsi Aloe vera setiap hari akan melancarkan sistem pencernaan karena kandungan seratnya cukup tinggi juga bisa menurunkan kadar kolestrol dalam darah. Di jepang dan China, Aloe vera dipakai untuk campuran yogurt, permen dan teh. Penduduk India juga menggunakan Aloe vera untuk mencapur tumisan sayur. Sedangkan di Meksiko biasanya Aloe vera dibuat smoothies. Asalkan cara mengolahnya dengan tepat pasti rasanya terasa sedap.
